What is the substance, and is it approved?
The FDA, the US Food and Drug Administration, reviews medicines.
Its BPC-157 briefing is the main record for the substance's identity, human evidence and gaps in testing, checked September 28, 2026.
FDA: the detailed substance review
Start with the conclusions, then look at the human study section.
FDA: withdrawn ingredient requests
Look for BPC-157 under the heading for requests that were taken back. That entry does not give pharmacies permission to use it.
What do the compounding rules say?
Compounding is making a medicine to order. The legal requirements for raw ingredients described here were checked September 26, 2026.
FDA: ingredient rules for ordinary pharmacies
Explains the legal requirements for raw ingredients. It also groups ingredients by how FDA plans to handle them during review. These temporary groups are not approval.
FDA: questions about made-to-order medicines
Explains how medicines are made to order and which agency checks each kind of medicine-making business.
Where can a doctor's record be checked?
The state board holds the doctor's licence record and public record of action it has taken against the doctor.
State medical board directory
Choose the state and continue to the board's own licence search.
What public board records can tell you
Check whether the record shows an active licence, past board action or pending charges. Read what the board says it does and does not publish.
Where can a pharmacy record be checked?
FDA: state pharmacy licence searches
Follow the state link and match the pharmacy's exact name.
What applies to a remote visit?
The national boards' policy is guidance; the enforceable prescribing rules differ by state.
US health department: location and licences
Explains why the patient's location is part of the permission check.
State medical boards: remote care policy
Covers assessment, questions, records and referral for an exam.
State medical boards: treatment menus and prescribing
Read the guidance on patient questions and treatment selection.
What was studied in people?
The small published reports have no group of other patients to compare the treatment with. A study register lists plans, progress and any posted results. A listed plan is not a finding.
Journal record: the knee report
Read how the patients' changes were gathered and measured.
Journal record: the bladder report
A small report with no group of other patients to compare the treatment with.
Journal record: a small study of treatment through a vein
A very small report of treatment given through a vein.
US study register: study plans and results
Look for the sections that say whether a study has started or finished and whether results are posted. A plan alone does not tell you what happened.
Where did the claim about healing in rats come from?
Journal record: the rat healing experiment
A tendon is a band that joins muscle to bone. This experiment tested healing in rats; it did not show a healing benefit in people.
Why is there no price in this guide?
At the September 28, 2026 check, no approved BPC-157 product existed. No maker of an approved product or government program that publishes medicine prices had a price for it. This guide gives no price estimate; ask the service for a written total.
FDA: records of drug approval
Searchable records used to check whether a BPC-157 product had approval. This is not a list of clinic charges.
Do codes and registrations prove approval?
FDA: what a drug directory code means
Explains why a listing is not an approval.
FDA: how to check an approval claim
Explains the difference between approval and other FDA terms.
Where are the limits on unwanted effects?
FDA: limits of problem reports
A report alone cannot establish the cause or frequency of a problem.
US government: severe allergic reactions
General emergency information, including when to seek urgent help.
Which sport and service lists apply?
The world sport and college sport lists and the military supplement list were checked September 28, 2026.
World sport: list in force during 2026
Applies during and outside competition.
World sport: replacement from January 2027
Keep its effective date separate from the current list.
US college sport: 2026–27 list
A separate list with its own rules.
US military: prohibited supplement ingredients
This list covers products sold as dietary supplements, meaning products sold to add to the diet, for military service members.
US military: the supplement rule and its exceptions
The exceptions are in paragraph 3.2.c. Ask a military health or rules office to explain whether one applies to the proposed care.
